The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Financial Modelling and Corporate Finance Lead to play a senior role in the next stage of TriFidus’s development. The role has a dual but integrated remit.

You will take senior ownership of Financial Modelling as a core TriFidus capability, helping develop our modelling approach, provide technical leadership to experienced Principals and strengthen quality, consistency and model-risk management. Alongside this, you will operate as a senior finance practitioner across Corporate Finance, FP&A and wider financial decision-support, helping clients connect financial models with the commercial, strategic and planning decisions they are intended to support.

Financial Modelling will be your area of deepest technical ownership, but this is deliberately not a narrow modelling role. We are looking for someone who is as interested in what a model is used for as well as how it is built.

Your Impact

You will:

lead and continually develop the TriFidus Financial Modelling approach, standards and controls;
provide senior technical judgement on complex models and modelling issues;
review significant models and challenge architecture, assumptions, controls and outputs;
support and develop our Financial Modelling Principals, increasing their capability and independence;
help reduce key-person dependency through stronger processes, knowledge-sharing and team capability;
lead and contribute to Corporate Finance and FP&A work, including investment appraisal, Project Finance, funding, valuation, forecasting, strategic planning and scenario analysis;
work directly with CFOs, Boards and senior finance teams on complex financial and commercial questions;
translate ambiguous client problems into structured analysis and practical decision-support;
lead significant client engagements and build trusted senior relationships;
contribute to proposals, new client discussions and the development of future opportunities; and
help strengthen TriFidus’ external profile, methodologies and intellectual property.

Initially, the role is built around leadership through technical credibility and influence rather than formal line management.

What You Bring

Financial Modelling

You will have deep, hands-on experience designing, building and reviewing complex financial models. You should be comfortable with:

integrated three-statement modelling;
model architecture and design;
accounting within financial models;
debt, cash and financing structures;
scenario and sensitivity analysis;
valuation and investment appraisal;
controls, validation and model review; and
translating commercial arrangements into financial outcomes.

You must remain sufficiently close to the technical work to provide credible guidance to experienced modellers.

Accounting

Strong accounting capability is essential. A recognised accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent is strongly preferred. Regardless of qualification route, candidates must demonstrate a robust understanding of financial statements, accounting treatments and how commercial activity flows through profit, cash and the balance sheet.

Corporate Finance and FP&A

You should bring meaningful experience beyond Financial Modelling. Particularly relevant experience includes:

Project Finance;
debt raising and funding processes;
investment appraisal and valuation;
financing structures and capital allocation;
budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning;
governance frameworks; and
Board or C-suite reporting.

We do not expect equal depth across every area. We are looking for someone who combines genuine Financial Modelling expertise with sufficiently broad finance experience to operate credibly with senior clients.
